Postsoltice Diary
I have no idea if I can make this a thing, but I am going to attempt a daily writing here. A w/reading and w/riting journal, if I can. Last night I dug into A.M. Shine’s The Watchers. Not yet much to report except that fear itself is not enough for me to invest in reading. The mystery of the unknown gets the physiological responses going, but not the intellectual ones. I am anxious to see where the folk material enters. I am also watching The Beast in Me - with a first episode that I thought near perfect. The character reveals were wonderful and Matthew Rhys is frightening as a charming sociopath. But the hinted backstory of Aggie Wills (played by Claire Danes) was so well drawn… her divorce, her grief, her writing life. So much information offered but no hammer - my head does not ache from being struck. I may be getting motivated to re-enter one of the stories that has gone quiet. Maede’s.
